Daniel is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Yost) Carlino of Oakwood Hills his son, Nicholas (fiance, Rosaleen McSorley) of Chicago, his granddaughter, Remi of Cary, and his daughter, Anna (Brett) Glavey of Spring Grove his father, Martin Carlino (Joanne Tyrrell) of Des Plaines and his mother-in- law, Rae Anne Yost of Grayslake his siblings Michael (Karen) Carlino of Shorewood, John (Sally) Carlino of Frankfort, and Denise (Bruce) Zaccanti of Sugar Grove his “outlaws”, Vicki and Todd Daniels of Texas, Tim and Kim Yost of Tennessee, Wendy and Dan Gwaltney of Grayslake, Patrick and Katy Yost of Wauconda, and Michael and Laura Yost of Island Lake his nieces and nephews, Christopher and Jane McGarel, Jordan and Diane McGarel, Nicole McGarel, Caitlin and Colin Cassidy, Claire and Tim Dawson, Grace Carlino, Casey Carlino, Jared and Crystal Yost, Jacob and Kirby Yost, Emily and Amber Clark, Zack and Melissa Yost, Peter and Theresa Daniels, Laura Daniels, Maggie and Justin Granger, Bryn and Brooke Gwaltney, Joshua Gwaltney, Ian and Cindy Gwaltney, James Yost, Margaret Yost, Jack Yost, and Ethan Yost and 18 great nieces and nephews. His favorite daily pastime was solving the Chicago Tribune Crossword puzzles and Sudoku! He adored his granddaughter and delighted in caring for her. His favorite artist was Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) and in his spare time he collected coins. He loved Door County, the Grand Tetons and his latest trips to Hawaii and Italy. He also enjoyed kayaking and floating on Silver Lake, attending summer festivals at Ravinia, Milwaukee and county fairs, and delighted in cheering on his children in all activities they participated in. Daniel enjoyed cross country skiing, biking, and bonfires, bowling and playing cards with the neighbors. Daniel was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and delighted in them winning the World Series in 2016! He enjoyed hockey, golf, and basketball and all major sports celebrations: Chicago Bears Superbowl, Blackhawks Stanley Cup Finals, and Chicago Bulls NBA finals! He was a baseball coach for both the Cary and Crystal Lake Youth Baseball Associations. He served his community as an Oakwood Hills Village Trustee and was a member of SS. He attended Western Illinois University and made a career in sales, mostly in the cellular industry before semi-retiring and working part time at AutoZone in Cary, IL. ![]() Daniel attended York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL participating on both the cross country and track teams under the direction of Mr. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and was the son of Martin Carlino and the late Marie (Lakemeyer) Carlino. Carlino, 71, of Oakwood Hills, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. ![]() Marv was predeceased by his parents and by his beloved son, Jamie, who passed away on April 19, 1995.Daniel W. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Virginia Overloop of Kalamazoo daughter, Laura Overloop and her wife, Karen of Huntley, IL step-daughter, Helen (Bill) Olewnik of Wysox, PA step-sons, Bruce (Gayle) Akers of Shoemakersville, PA and Brian (Loretta) Akers of Woodstock, NY brother, John (Wanda) Overloop of Kalamazoo 9 step-grandchildren, Bill Olewnik, Jr., Eddie (Pam) Olewnik, Emily Akers, Bruce Akers, Jr., Jennifer (Christopher) Shenise, Tim (Stephanie) Roderer, Michael Olewnik, Teri Akers and Lisa Akers 15 step-great grandchildren. He loved camping, traveling, hunting, going on walks, reading about nature, and was always up for a lively conversation about politics. He liked big band music and marching bands, and he enjoyed spending time with his family. His daughter, Laura, recalls many hours spent fishing with her dad in her younger years. Marv was an avid bowler and was on a league team for many years. He was born in Kalamazoo on May 19, 1934, the son of Abraham and Martha (Schuring) Overloop. Age 82, passed away quietly at home on Wednesday, Novemin Kalamazoo surrounded by loved ones after succumbing to cancer. ![]()
